Why can I run Dead Space on high graphics yet Fallout New vegas is on low and still jumps?

I have an E7500 at 2.93ghz, a gt220 and 4g of ram. Dead Space 1 works unbelievably on high settings and the graphics are unbeleivable. Fallout New vegas works fine on medium settings until I see other people then the game just jumps even if I set it to low settings. So why does Dead Space look much better and works perfectly whereas Fallout New vegas just jumps all the time. Dead Space looks like a newer game.

Fallout has a higher graphics setting and probably needs to get updated.
Where as Dead Space is older and has a lower graphic setting.
Way to fix go and download all updates of Fallout and either get new graphic card or put setting on low and little by little raise the setting.
